airport dilemmas.

9th April.

So finally my excellent punctuality has come quite in handy.
As I normally arrive at least an hour early to everything, I notice while I'm waiting for the Brisbane airport express train, I cannot find my boarding pass.
As it was indeed a check-in from home printed pass, "Jetstar, saving you time!"
I was putting that into reverse.  I never thought that, that icky feeling in my stomach of what-am-I-forgetting would have been one of the most important things I needed.
Murphy's law.  Even though I leave an hour early, something is going to delay my time and punch me in the nerves.

So I awkwardly ran, imbalanced as I was holding carry-on luggage.  There's no queues when you're running late for a flight only annoyed and frustrated faces as you cut into the line at security.
But this time I had a late partner.  How funny is it, that as soon as you see someone else looking like an idiot (like yourself) running through the airport, you become instant friends, who keep bumping into each other at check-points.  The awkward, under-breath laugh and,
"Running late too I see."  And if you're lucky enough some just might blurt out their entire story of how they ended up this way.  Obviously you're in too much of a rush and stress-mode to care or to even switch on your listening function button.

I eventually got to my seat, right up the front and a whole row all to myself.  As I looked into my front seated pocket I found a much abandoned book titled,
"The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim," which found its way into my bag.

My dilemmas definitely paid off.
